Hornbill Festival is known as the festival of festivals.
This is one of the grandest festivals that Nagaland brings to life, uniting all 17 Tribes.

This is the time when you see Naga culture flourishing in its full glory.
You can also witness folk performances, tribal Morong (representations of tribal community houses), a bamboo pavilion showcasing art and craft, and a farmers' market. Of course, you'll have the opportunity to savor Naga cuisine.

Itinerary

Day 01- Dimapur - Kohima - Kigwema (90 km - 3 hr)

  • Pick up from Dimapur Airport by 1200 hrs
  • Travel to Kigwema via  Kohima
  • Stay in a homestay at  Kigwema.

Day 2.  Kigwema - Kisama - Kigwema | Hornbill Festival (Local Experiences)

  • Hornbill Fest at Kisama Village
  • Tribal folk performances during the day.
  • Live music concert in the evening. 
  • Stay in a homestay at  Kigwema.

Day 3. Kigwema | Overnight at Kigwema (Local Experiences)

  • Hornbill Fest at Kisama Village. 
  • Bamboo pavilion, Moron hopping, Farmer market  & War museum. 
  • Evening for live music concerts.

Day 4. Kigwema - Khonoma - Dimapur (108 km / 3 hr)

  • Kohima local (War cemetery, Kohima Cathedral),
  • Dzuleke Valley 
  • Khonoma Village walk. 
  • Dimapur Drop at The hotel.

Day 5.  Travel back  from Dimapur

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour end.

 

NOTE:. You can fly out from Dimapur or
1. Take a train to Guwahati (3 train option available)
2. Extend your tour to Jorhat - Majuli Island - Sivasagar - Dibrugarh. (3 nights 4 days) or
3. Extend your tour to Jorhat - Majuli Island - Kaziranga - Guwahati  (3 nights 4 days) or
4. Extend your tour to Jorhat - Majuli Island - Sivasagar - Kaziranga - Guwahati  (4 nights 5 days)

What is included in the tour

  • Anything not mentioned in the “Inclusions” segment.
  • Flight / Train Fares
  • Personal expenses like Travel Insurance, bottled water, laundry, phone calls, camera charges, room heaters etc.      
  • Cost for add ons and  Up–Gradation Charges
  • Cost for extra usage of vehicle, other than scheduled & mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Any eventualities, Medical situations, Change in tour due to Natural calamities or civil unrest.
Tour specific Notes

Accommodation

The homestay in Nagaland (Kigwema) is neat and clean. Spacious campus and in close proximity from the Hornbill Festival site (2 km away)

Dimapur stay is a deluxe transit hotel.


Food

In Nagaland Homestay food is simple and basic. Veg food is available.

The food experience will be satisfactory but  might not be very delightful.
However while you are in Hornbill festive arena, you will find many restaurants and eateries to celebrate your taste buds.

Travel
Hilly travel involved. It takes little longer travel distance than showed in the Google.
However road conditions are good. You will find little rough road while you visit the Dzuleke valley. Rest all roads are very smooth.
If you have motion sickness, then please bring medicine.

Age limit
Guests of any age are welcome to this tour. 
However please note there are walks involved while you explore the hornbill festival site.
